Dining at The Northern Club

The Northern Club has a range of dining rooms and bars to cater for different groups and events. Each dining room has its own unique style, as described below, and menus as described on the sub-pages.

Bankside

Bankside provides a more casual dining/cocktail experience where the dress code is relaxed, requiring just smart casual attire. The menu offered also reflects the less formal environment.

The contemporary design is by the Club’s award-winning architects Fearon Hay and is in stark contrast to the rest of the Victorian clubhouse. This intimate space is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails Monday to Friday.

The wonderful west facing terrace allows for outdoor dining in the warmer months and the unusual contemporary design of the fire place offers a relaxed environment in winter.

The relaxed dress code is smart casual – that is a shirt (polo or business but not t-shirt), long trousers (not tracksuits), shoes (not trainers).

Members Dining Room

The Members’ Dining Room offers a fine dining experience with an extensive menu and award winning wine list.

It is reputably the most elegant dining room for up to 140 guests and can be used for a la carte dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner or alternatively booked for a private function be it a wedding, birthday party or company celebration.

The dress code requires a tie and jacket and appropriate attire for women.

Private Dining Room

This recently refurbished room seats up to 18 for a private function.

It is a wonderful sophisticated space with reproduction “antique” furniture set with fine china, silverware and crystal glassware.
